TRANSMISSION CUT-OFF SWITCH
WARNING
When starting the machine off up a hill, turn the transmission cut-off switch to the OFF position, depress
the brake pedal, then gradually depress the accelerator pedal and release the brake slowly to allow the
machine to start off. This makes it possible to prevent the machine from rolling back.
Press push button switch (2) to turn it ON or OFF.
If the switch is pressed once, the pilot lamp lights up to show
that the system is ON, and the transmission is returned to Neu-
tral when the brake pedal is depressed to the set position.
If the switch is pressed again, the pilot lamp goes OFF and the
system is turned OFF.
Normally, keep the switch at the ON position.
For details of setting the depression position of the brake
pedal, see “ADJUSTING TRANSMISSION CUT-OFF POSI-
TION (3-98)“.
OFF: Left brake pedal acts as normal brake (like right brake pedal).
ON: Left brake pedal acts as normal brake, but also switches transmission to NEUTRAL.
If the switch is turned to ON, the transmission cut-off pilot lamp will light up.
REMARK
With normal operations, if the transmission cut-off function is used, the rise in the brake oil temperature and torque
converter oil temperature is reduced.
The transmission cut-off set switch on the right console can be used to set the position of the brake pedal to be
used for cutting off the transmission.
TRANSMISSION CUT-OFF SET SWITCH
CAUTION
Apply the parking brake before adjusting the transmission cut-off position.
When this switch (3) is pressed to turn it ON, the transmission
cut-off function can be used to set the position of the brake
pedal for returning the transmission to Neutral.
Position (A): ON
The cut-off position can be set.
When the switch is released, it automatically returns to its origi-
nal position.
For details of setting the depression position of the brake
pedal, see “ADJUSTING TRANSMISSION CUT-OFF POSI-
TION (3-98)“.
