Using the vernier the diameter can be set to 2µm. The
starting point is the point at which the graduation on
the vernier and a graduation on the graduated dial
overlap (black arrow).
When the vernier graduation is moved to the right
to align with the next graduation to the right of the
graduated dial, this corresponds to a change in diameter
of plus
2µm
.
When the vernier graduation is moved to the left to
align with the next graduation to the left of the gradu-
ated dial, this corresponds to a change in diameter of
minus
8µm
.
Note on use of vernier
Check diameter on the setting device and adjust if necessary. Note reverse play
for spindle. It is possible to adjust the slide by up to 5 µm when clamped.
In principle the following applies: first set the components to be mounted to
maximum for setting the diameter, then adjust the slide.
4
Place tool on setting device.
Make remaining adjustment (2 mm radial) with the micro adjustment spindle.
This corresponds to rotating the graduated disc by a
x
adjustment of 1 mm.
Using the graduated disc, adjustments of 0.01 mm can be made between
graduations or of 2 µm with the vernier
