Setting Up an HP-UX Remote Printer to Use lpd
Set up a remote printer on the host that sends jobs to the network interface
card using the lpd of the network interface card. To do this:

At the prompt, type:
–
sam

When a window appears, select [Printer/Plotter Manager].

When the menu appears, select [List printer and plotters].

When a list appears, select [Actions] in the title bar.

From the pull-down menu, select [Add Remote Printer].

When a window appears, add values to configure the network interface
card.

At the bottom of the screen, select [Remote Printer is on BSD system]
from the three choices available.

Click on the [OK].

Ping the unit to test communications. Type:
–
ping <IP address of the network interface card>

Ping should confirm your IP address with the message:
–
<IP address of the network interface card> is alive

If the connection is confirmed, you can now print.
