KORALUX towel rail radiators with electric heating and spatial thermostat
KORALUX towel rail radiators with electric heating of the heat-carrying medium and spatial thermostat (hereinafter referred to only as
TRR-E
R
) are designed for heating of bathrooms, corridors, toilets and gyms etc.
When using the radiator for drying textiles, only
textiles washed in water can be dried!
Description
For heating of the heat-carrying medium, the TRR-E
R
is fitted with an electric heating element with electronic spatial thermostat EL.07RC.
An antifreeze mix is used as the heat-carrying medium for filling the TRR-E
R
, which allows for use of the TRR-E
R
in buildings with an
anticipated temperature drop below the freezing point (down to –10°C) during the winter.
The electronic thermostat guarantees intelligent operation of the TRR -E
R
. It is equipped with a protective switching relay, which restricts
switching more frequently than once every 5 seconds. If there is a power failure in the mains network, once the device is switched on again,
all functions of the thermostat, which were operating at the moment of the power failure, are automatically renewed, including completion
of the drying cycle. A temperature switch is housed inside the electric heating element with switching temperature of approximately 85°C.
Once this temperature has been reached, the switch switches off the electric heating element and switches it back on as soon as the heat-
carrying medium cools down to a temperature of approximately 55°C (Fig.1).
!Warning: The surface of the radiator can reach temperatures of more than 80°C when covered!
Installation and positioning
The TRR-E
R
must always be installed in a vertical position with the electronic thermostat located at the bottom, i.e. under the TRR-E
R
(Fig.
2). Fitting of the TRR-E
R
with thermostat positioned vertically from the top or horizontally is forbidden (Fig. 2)!
The TRR-E
R
is supplied with the electronic thermostat dismantled (Fig. 3). Before installing the thermostat, check that the power supply
cable is not damaged! A damaged thermostat or power supply cable must not be installed! When installing the thermostat, connect the
cable of the heating part of the electric heating element and the thermostat (Fig. 4). Fit the thermostat to the heating part of the electric
heating element and secure it by tightening the two side screws using the spanner provided (Fig. 4). Hang the TRR-E
R
with fitted electric
heating element onto the wall with the aid of the bracket provided together with the TRR-E
R
. If the TRR-E
R
is positioned in the corner of a
room or in an alcove etc., a minimum side distance of the radiator from the wall of 50 mm must be adhered to during installation. The
distance between the back of the TRR-E
R
and the wall is given by the dimensions of the brackets supplied with the TRR-E
R
. The TRR-E
R
must not be positioned directly under a mains socket. The TRR-E
R
is not designed for installation in cloakrooms. In order to rule out any
danger to very small children, it should be installed in such a way that the lowest cross bar is at least 600 mm above the floor. During
handling and installation, the TRR-E
R
must be protected against shocks to avoid mechanical damage. During installation, be careful to
ensure no damage is caused to the power supply cable or the electronic thermostat!
Installation and replacement of the TRR-E
R
may only be performed by a professional with the appropriate electrical qualifications. A check
must also be made by a person authorised to do so before the TRR-E
R
is first connected to the mains to see whether the electrical
installation meets the requirements of the prescribed safety regulations. In bathrooms and showers, the provisions of the ČSN 33 2000-7-
701 standard (or IEC 60364-7-701) must be complied with.
The TRR-E
R
must not be positioned in bathrooms and showers inside the bath or shower or above the bath or shower (Fig. 5). The
electrical supply equipment, to which the electric heating element will be connected, must meet the requirements of regulations for
connection of class I appliances of the required power output. In bathrooms and shower areas, the electrical supply equipment must
include the appropriate RCD and the provisions of the ČSN 33 2000-7-701 standard (or IEC 60364-7-701) must be met. When installed
outside of the Czech Republic, the relevant national regulations must be complied with. The electric heating element is connected to the
mains junction box. Use of a mains plug and extension cable is forbidden (Fig. 7)!
Colours of wires in the power supply cable
: L - black (brown), N – blue, PE - green/yellow (Fig. 4)
Cleaning and maintenance
Regular detergents designed for cleaning painted surfaces can be used to clean the outer surface of the radiator. Always clean the TRR-
ER
when it is safely disconnected from the mains and leave it to dry before switching it back on. Make sure that no water gets into the
electrical parts and the electrical supply equipment. You must not interfere in the construction of the TRR-E
R
in any way. Dismantling or
loosening the blanking plugs and electric heating element is explicitly forbidden (Fig. 6).
Operation
The TRR-E
R
is set into operation by turning the control knob of the electronic thermostat from the off position
in the direction of position
, which is the range of the required ambient air temperature (Fig. 8). The indicator will be lit red until the set temperature is reached.
Once the set temperature is reached, the indicator will light up green. Press the control knob in an upwards direction (Fig.8) to switch on the
“drying” programme, during which the TRR-E
R
will heat for a period of two hours regardless of the external air temperature, the indicator is
lit orange. Once the “drying” programme has ended, the thermostat will switch the TRR-E
R
back to the originally set temperature
regulation. If you want to end the drying programme early, press the control knob in an upwards direction again to end the “drying”
programme and switch the TRR-E
R
back to the originally set temperature regulation.
Switch off the TRR-E
R
by turning the control knob to the
position. When the thermostat switches off, the indicator will go out.
Operating indications – indicator status
Green
- the device is switched on, it is not heating, the temperature in the room is higher than the
temperature set on the thermostat
Red
- the device is operating, heating
Orange
- the device is operating, heating in “drying” mode
Flashing
- error state, the manufacturer recommends switching the device off for a period of 1 minute and
then switching it back on. If the defect persists, contact the manufacturer's technical service
department.
Unlit
- the device is switched off (or there is no power supply to the device)
