Korg KPR-77 MIDI Interface - Installation Instructions

Unscrew and remove the voice and connector boards from the bottom half of the case and 

locate the solder pins for the SYNC socket on the underneath of the connector board.

Solder two 30cm wires to pins 4 and 5 of the SYNC socket. It helps to use different coloured 

wires, but otherwise mark your wire with a permanent marker to differentiate them.

Reinstall the voice and connector boards, running the two MIDI wires underneath the voice 

board and going to the battery compartment. Replace the screws for these boards making 

sure that you don’t pinch the wires.

Reinstall the KLM-448A board with newly-attached ribbon cable. Replace the 4 screws that 

hold it to the bottom case. Reconnect the ribbon cable that joins it to the voice board.

Solder a 40cm length of wire to the live pad of the backlight switch, located on the sequencer 

board in the top half of the case.

Connection to the backlight switch (+5V)

Run this length of wire to the battery compartment, where the two MIDI wires are. Avoid get-

ting it tangled around the ribbon cables that will join the two case halves.
