Mac OS X users
When used with Mac OS X, the TRITON Extreme will auto-
matically use Mac OS X’s built-in MIDI driver.
For use with Mac OS X, the TRITON Extreme requires
Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
To set up the TRITON Extreme for use with Mac OS X, fol-
low the steps below.

Use a USB cable to connect the TRITON Extreme’s USB B
connector to the USB port of your computer.

Turn on the power of the TRITON Extreme.

Navigate to Macintosh HD

Application folder

Utility
folder, and double-click “Audio MIDI Settings.”

Click the “MIDI Devices” tab, and verify that the TRI-
TON Extreme is displayed.
About the ports of the Mac OS X default MIDI driver
Port 1 of the driver (computer) corresponds to the TRITON
Extreme’s KEYBOARD and SOUND ports.

About the TRITON Extreme and driver
ports
KEYBOARD device
Applications on your computer use this port to receive MIDI
messages from the TRITON Extreme (data from the key-
board, controllers, and sequencer).
SOUND device
Applications on your computer use this port to send MIDI
messages to the TRITON Extreme’s internal sound genera-
tor, making it produce sound.
