Communication setting using KPP tools (Port2)
Select [PLC Settings] from the PLC view of the KPP tool, and then select [General Purpose Communication Port Settings].
Setting item
Description
Port
Select Port 2 from the list box for the port.
Protocol
Click the checkbox to the left of [DirectNET].
Time-out
When a port sends a message and waits for the response, the error is judged to be exceeded.
RTS ON delay time
The RTS ON delay time specifies the amount of time the SJ-Ether will wait before actually sending data
after turning on the RTS signal. If you are using SJ-Ether on a multi-drop network, set the RTS ON delay
time to at least 5 ms. If a problem occurs, increase the delay time.
RTS OFF delay time
The RTS OFF delay time specifies the time that the SJ-Ether will wait until the actual data ends after the
RTS signal is turned off. When using SJ-Ether on a multi-drop network, set the RTS OFF delay time to 5
ms or more. If a problem occurs, increase the delay time.
Area code
Select "1" to switch the CPU port to the master station. The available slave station numbers range from 1
to 90 (the station numbers must not be duplicated). After the power is turned on, the port becomes slave
mode unless SJ-Ether executes network instructions for the ladder logic using the port as the master. The
ladder logic is in slave mode until this port is used.
Speeds
The communication speeds that can be set are 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, and 384000 bps. When setting,
select a fast communication speed. If data errors or noise are generated on the network, change the
communication speed to a slower one.
Stop bit
For the stop bit used in the protocol, select "1 bit" or "2 bit".
Parity
For error check parity, select either None, Even, or Odd.
Data format
Select HEX (hexadecimal) or ASCII format.
①
When the transmission mode is ASCII
・
ASCII codes are used for communication data.
・
A CR (carriage return: 0DH) is added to the response from the slave.
・
The data block is 128 bytes or less.
②
When the transmission mode is HEX
・
The HEX (binary) code is used for communication data.
・
The data block is 256 bytes or less.
Finally, click the button to send port settings to the CPU and click Close.
Note: All communication speeds on each device on the network must be the same.
