PID control of the SJ-Ether
5-1-1
Main feature
SJ Ether's process control features address a wide range of applications and needs. Some of the features of the system are
Maximum number of loops 16, each programmable independent sample rate
Manual/Automatic/Cascade Control Function
Two types of bumper pressing
Extensive alarm information
Lamp/soak with a maximum number of segments of 16
Auto-tuning
The CPU not only executes the ladder program, but also has a process control (PID function). You can configure up to 16 types
of control. The wiring of the sensor or actuator can be connected to the SJ-Ether. All process variables, gain values, and alarm
levels for each PID control are stored in the configuration parameter table in the CPU. The CPU reads the process variable (PV)
input for each scan. The control output value is constantly updated by controlling PID every time as part of the PLC scan. PID
control uses proportional(P)-integral(I)-derivative(P) as an algorithm to generate control output. This chapter describes how
PID control works and what must be done to configure and adjust PID control.
The best tool for setting PID control in the SJ-Ether is the KPP programming software. KPP uses the dialog box to configure
individual PID controls. After you have finished setting, you can adjust each PID control by using the PID Trend view of KPP.
Since the PID settings are stored in the data register, the PID settings also disappear when the register information is cleared.
Control parameters can be saved on disk.
Note: DirectSOFT4 and DirectSOFT5 are not supported.
Be sure to use KPP Ver1. 5.0.0 or higher.
