Chapter 7 Maintenance
7-3
Battery Attachment/Replacement
The SJ Ether series is equipped with long-life lithium batteries (commercially available CR2354: optional) to maintain power
failure.
You can back up the function memory and the calendar/clock in the holding area for power failure to prevent them from
being deleted.
When the voltage of the battery drops, the memory of the function memory is lost, or the calendar/watch value is invalid.
Since the operation mode at power-on may become undetermined, replace the battery with a new one at the earliest possible
time.
Set the mode with battery after mounting or replacement. (SP43) error E41 occurs when the battery voltage is less than DC 2.5 V
(Refer to 2-10: Battery present/not present).
Note: Even if the battery is purchased after the battery has turned out to be abnormal, it may not be
possible to deliver the battery immediately.
Have spare parts in advance or replace them periodically. The battery life should be approximately
three years.
7-3-1
Attachment/Replacement Method
①
To charge the CPU to a large capacitor, turn on the power for at least 10 minutes before replacing the battery. When the
battery is removed, the contents of the functional memory are retained with a large capacity capacitor.
②
Turn off the power supply and prepare for installation and replacement. Since the SJ Ether module is stackable, it is also
connected to adjacent modules. Consider whether to remove only the CPU module, remove the entire system, or do not
remove the CPU module according to the installation status.
③
Pull up the battery holder hook at the top of the CPU module while pressing it in the direction indicated by the arrow.
④
For replacement, remove the old battery from the holder.
⑤
Attach the new battery to the holder. Set the product in the direction of ± of the battery shown at the top of the holder.
Lithium-ion batteries (commercially available CR2354)
⑥
Close the holder until it clicks and return the CPU module to its original position.
⑦
Turn on the power and set the battery.
⑧
Check that error E041 has not occurred in the history information storage function (see "2-11 History Information Storage
Function").
Note: Replace within 10 minutes after turning off the power.
・
Do not work on an electrically conductive object.
・
Do not touch the electronic parts.
・
Dispose of unused batteries in the specified manner, such as the battery collection box.
・
Do not short-circuit, charge, or disassemble the battery.
