You can connect any of the following:

2 units, using a Null-modem adapter (see section 6.4.1.1) or without
using a Null-modem adapter (see section 6.4.1.2)

The PC’s DB9 COM port to a unit with a Null-modem adapter (see
section 6.4.1.3) or without a Null-modem adapter (see section 6.4.1.4)

The PC’s DB25 COM port to a
unit without a Null-modem adapter

6.4.1.1 Connecting 2 Units using a Null-modem Adapter
To connect 2 units,
using a Null-modem adapter
provided with the machine
(default):
1. Connect a flat cable

2. On the second unit, set
DIP 7 OFF
(enabling Null-modem adapter use).
