to the off (OFF) position to
ensure that the engine is turned off. Mix regular
gasoline (unleaded, alcohol-free) and quality-prov-
en motor oil for air cooled 2 cycle engines (fig 1).
Fuel
Do not use BIA or TCW (2-stroke water cooling type)
mixed oil.
WARNING:
Fuel is very flammable. Avoid smoking or bringing
any flame or sparks near fuel. Make sure to stop the
engine and allow it to cool before refuelling the unit.
Select bare ground outdoors for fuelling, and move at
least 3m away from the fuelling point before starting
the engine.
fig 1
The engine is certified to operate on unlead-
ed fuel.
M
ake sure to use gasoline with a minimum
octane number of 90RON.
If you use petrol with a lower octane value,
there is danger that the engine temperature
may rise and an engine problem such as a
piston seizing may consequently occur.
Poor quality petrol or oils may damage seal-
ing rings, fuel lines or the fuel tank itself.
WARNING:
K
eep open flames away from the area where fuel is
handled or stored.
Mix and store fuel only in an approved gasoline
container.

How to mix fuel
Fuelling the Unit
1
1
M
easure out the quantity of petrol and oil to
be mixed.
Put some of the petrol into a clean, approved
fuel container.
Pour in all of the oil and agitate well.
Pour in the rest of the petrol and agitate
again for at least one minute. As some oils
may be difficult to agitate depending on the
oil ingredients, sufficient agitation is neces-
sary for the engine to last. Be aware that if
agitation is insufficient, there is an increased
danger of early piston seizing due to an
abnormally lean mixture.
Put a clear indicator on the outside of the
container to avoid confusing the mixture with
other containers.
Undo and remove the fuel cap. Rest the cap
in a dust free location.
Put fuel into the tank. Fill it until the tank is
filled to about 80% capacity.
Fasten the fuel cap securely, then wipe up
any fuel spillage around the unit.
Things to avoid
Fuel with no oil (raw fuel): this will cause
severe damage to the internal engine parts
very quickly.
G
asohol: this will cause deterioration of the
rubber and/or plastic parts of the engine.
4
-stroke engine oil: this will cause spark-plug
fouling, exhaust port blockages and piston
ring sticking.
M
ixed fuel that has been left for over a
month: these may clog the carburettor and
result in engine failure.
