Setting the operating mode

With the operating mode selection switch

, select 

the operating mode of the machine. To change the 

operating mode, press the locking button on the 

operating mode selection switch and turn it to the 

desired position until it can be heard to latch.
Operate the mode selection switch only when the 

tool is at a standstill. This will help prevent damage 

and premature wear of the tool.

For hammer drilling in concrete and natural stone, 

rotate the mode selection switch

so that the 

pointer points to the symbol       (fig 6).

T

here is a tremendous and sudden twisting force exerted 

on the tool / bit at the time of hole break-through, when 

the hole becomes clogged with chips and particles, or 

when striking reinforcing rods embedded in the concrete. 

Always use the auxiliary handle and firmly hold the 

tool by both auxiliary handle and switch handle during 

operations. Failure to do so may result in the loss of 

control of the tool and potentially severe injury.

For drilling in steel or wood and for driving screws, 

rotate the mode selection switch

For adjusting the chiseling position (Vario-Lock),  

rotate the mode selection switch
