When the lateral mowing units are lowered from the transport position to the headland
position, information appears on the display concerning the proper mowing technique. At
the same time a warning tone is audible. The information disappears after several
seconds.
If a field is mowed from the outside inwards, animals are slowly driven from the safe edge
sections into the middle of the field, making it more difficult or impossible for them to flee.
This can be avoided by mowing according to the 'from the inside outwards' technique.
Instead of mowing any edge sections at first, the operator drives straight into the middle of the
field and then mows in a left-handed spiral from the inside to the outside. Animals can rely on
their natural instincts to escape from the field without injury.

Lowering All Mowing Units from Headland Position to Working Position
Lowering the lateral mowing units to the front mowing unit depends on the set mode in menu 1-
7 “Setting Manual Control/Distance Control/Time Control”.
In mode 1 manual control
•
Press and hold the function key for
to lower the front mowing unit.
•
Release the function key for
to lower the lateral mowing units.
In mode 2 time control and mode 3 distance control
•
Press and release the function key for
to lower the front mowing unit and the lateral
mowing units.
The lateral mowing units are lowered after the set time delay and the set distance have been
reached.
Note
The lateral mowing units are lowered directly into working position if there is no front mowing
unit installed.
