The Director Connect feature saves you time and gives you a bet-
ter connection. You can use your PortaView Plus without having to
place the telephone handset into the acoustic cups. It also gives you
the choice of dialing from the keyboard or from numbers stored in the
Phone Directory. (see page 15 for information on storing numbers in
the Directory.)
To connect your PortaView Plus to your telephone line, plug one end
of your modular telephone cord into the telephone wall jack. Plug the
other end into the jack on the back of your PortaView Plus.
After turning the Power Switch ON, it is necessary to press the [SPACE BAR] or [SHIFT]+[DIAL] to
connect with the
telephone line.
KEYBOARD DIALING
Turn the Power Switch ON.
• “PV20-DIRECT CONNECT” is displayed when in Direct Connect.
• If in acoustic mode, the PortaView Plus will automatically change to and remain in Direct
Connect when you press [DIAL].
PRESS:
TDD is now ready to dial.
The number is displayed and
dialed as it is typed.
If you make a mistake dialing, you must press:
The phone line is now cleared
and you may begin dialing again.
