Important rules for successful sealing:
The higher the sealing pressure, the better the seam.
When sealing, make sure the hands cover the greatest possible area of the sealing
clamp
(A)
and press down as heavily as possible.
Use only appropriate foil material such as KRUPS F388. Take note that office
materials, cling film and greaseproof paper, etc. are NOT suitable.
This appliance is for intermittent operation: 15 / 105 seconds. This means that
after 15 seconds of extraction and sealing, there must be a rest period of 105
seconds so as not to overload the appliance. If the air is sucked out only slowly,
check whether the foil is pressed up to the nozzle and that the nozzle is correctly
positioned between the layers of foil. Bags with a very small filling should first be
shortened with a pair of scissors before extracting and sealing.
Maintain the heavy pressure on the sealing clamp
(A)
until the sealing control lamp
ceases to glow.
Keep the sealing wire clean. If necessary, clean off any residue by doing a sealing
operation without using any foil.
Oversized bags should be sealed in two steps: first an oblique seam on one side the
bag, then extract through the remaining hole and seal off with a second seam.
