Limit levels are activated by magnetic switches.
The magnetic switches will be differentiated after different types corresponding to the range of applications
and the technical requirements.
All magnetic switches are bistable, i.e. they are switched over by the floats magnetic system as the level rises
and falls.
Fill the container and switch on the electrical control, where provided. Check the magnetic roller display ( 14 )
and check the switching function of the magnetic switches ( 16 ) to make sure that they are operating properly.
Use a connecting cable for the magnetic float level transmitter of at least 3 x 0.5 mm².
The level indicator is ready for operation.
The electrical connection must comply with the safety regulations for installing electrical systems and
equipment that apply in the country where the unit is installed and this work may only be undertaken by
qualified personnel. The service life of the switches can be increased considerably through the use of a
contact protection relay.
As options, the magnetic switches can be provided with the following configurations:
8.1 Magnetic switch / limiting value
8. Magnetic switch
7. Commissioning
8.2 Electrical connection of the magnetic switch
8.3 Attention
22 Ohm
1K
10K

Circuitry for the operation
on PLC with 22 Ω resistance
Namur circuitry acc. to EN 60947
• The operator must ensure that devices that have an earth connection are earthed.
• Devices with a connection cable are not earthed and may be live if faults occur. These devices may only
be operated at low voltage.
• Damage to the switch may occur when connecting to an inductive load. A circuit with an RC member or
a free-wheeling diode must be provided. When connecting to a capacitive load, a protective resistor must
be switched in series, in order to limit the peak current.
• An electrical overload may result in damage to the switch. This causes the magnetic float switch and the
control connected in the outgoing circuit to malfunction and results in damage to property and injury to
persons.
The maximum electrical switching capacities must be retained.
• Ensure that the energy input is correct and sufficient.
