Gearbox (SC2572 Only)
Method 1:
Unscrew top vented dipstick (#1). Wipe oil
from dipstick and screw dipstick in without tightening.
Unscrew dipstick and check oil on dipstick. If below
bottom level mark, add recommended gear lube through
dipstick hole until oil reaches top mark on dipstick.
Reinstall vented dipstick and tighten.
Method 2:
Remove side oil plug (#2). If oil is below
bottom of plug hole, add recommended gear lube
through top dipstick hole until oil flows out of side plug
hole. Reinstall and tighten side oil plug (#2) and vented
dipstick (#1).
Type of Lubrication: 80-90W EP Gear Lube
Quantity = Fill until oil reaches top mark on dipstick or
begins to flow out side plug hole in gearbox.
NOTE:
Do not overfill! Cutter should be level when
checking oil. Oil expands when hot, therefore, always
check oil level when cold.

SC2560 Spindle Hub Lubrication

Motor Spindle Hub (SC2560 Only)
The motor spindle hub (#1), has two cavity plugs (#2)
located on the hitch side of the hub housing.
1. Disengage blade hydraulics. Make sure blades have
come to a complete stop.
2. Disconnect float chains from cutter deck at mounting
holes “A” (See Figure 2-4 on page 21).
3. Disconnect height adjustment safety chain from front
of loader (See Figure 2-4 on page 21).
4. Raise front of cutter off the ground and tilt hitch
forward until cutter is hanging from the hitch straight
down.
5. Set park brake, shut engine off, and remove switch
key before continuing.
6. Remove one of the cavity plugs (#2) to check fluid
level. Fluid level should be within 1/2" from top of port
opening.
7.
Add EP 80-90 weight gearlube as required. Full
capacity of motor housing is approximately 1/3 pint.
8. Install cavity plug and tighten.
9. Being careful not to damage the tail wheel, lower
cutter back to ground level.
10. Reattach adjustment safety chain and float chains.
NOTE:
To check fluid level, ports (#2) in motor spindle
hub (#1) must point toward the Skid Steer Hitch.

Do Not Overfill
IMPORTANT:
Your cutter is shipped with a vented
dipstick packaged in the Operator’s Manual bag and
should have been installed in the gearbox by your
Kubota dealer. Please see your Kubota dealer if
vented dipstick was not included.
NOTE:
Use a suction or siphon pump to drain
gearboxes of oil when there is not an oil drain plug.
