HeraCeramPress
Instructions for use
Purpose
Manufacture of single and multi-surface pressable ceramic inlays, onlays and veneers as well as full
and veneered ceramic crowns using the stain or layering technique.
•
Stain technique:
Fully anatomical full and partial crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers. The final effect
is achieved by staining with HeraCeram Stains and Glaze universal.
•
Layering technique:
semi-anatomical pressable ceramic inlays, onlays and veneers and anterior
and premolar crowns veneered with HeraCeram.
Contraindications
• Bridge restorations
• Very deep subgingival preparations
• Patients with parafunctions (e. g. bruxism)
• Severely reduced residual dentition
Preparation
1. Model preparation
• Definition of the preparation margin
• For the adhesive gap, apply the spacer
– for crowns and veneers in two layers up to approx. 1 mm from the preparation margin
– for inlays and onlays of up to three layers, right up to the preparation margin of the die
• Insulate die from wax
• In the case of a known or suspected allergy to the ceramic ingredients, the use of this product is
contraindicated.
2. Modeling
• For modeling only use residue-free, full burn-out modeling materials and separating liquids intended
for the pressing technique.
• Objects for the layering technique must be 0.8 mm thick minimum.
• Premolars: reduced anatomical shape (occlusal profile) for the layering technique.
• Framework thickness should be at least 50 % of the total thickness.
• For molar crowns the stain technique is to be used.
3. Spruing
The objects must be sprued with approx. 5 – 6 mm long wax wires. For smaller inlays and crowns
2.5 – 3.0 mm thick in
∅
, for more voluminous restorations 3.5 mm thick in
∅
.
• Apply sprue at the point with the greatest volume, without tapering
Pressable object and sprue ideally form a line = direction of flow.
Before waxing on the channel former, determine the wax weight of the objects for the quantity of pellets
to use:
wax weight of up to 0.6 g
➙
1 pellet
wax weight of up to 1.4 g
➙
2 pellets
• Position pressable objects all at the same level, therefore the object margins are all on one level – as
a result, the sprues may vary in length.
• Position sprues on the base with a slight outward inclination (angle of approx. 60 – 70°C).
For inlays and onlays, the basal surface should face outwards.
4. Investment
• Please follow the manufacturer’s instructions when processing the investment materials (e.g.
Heravest Press).
• Lightly vibrate the investment material while pouring it bubble-free into the mould former and put on
the ring gage. The ring gage ensures the correct height of the mould and the parallel orientation of
the mould to the pressing direction of the pressing furnace.
• Allow the investment material to set free of vibration.
