USING THE FREEZER
COMPARTMENT
When you purchase frozen food
always bear in mind the following
factors:

The packaging or packet must
be intact, otherwise the food may spoil.
Â

If a packet is swollen or shows
damp marks, it has not been stored in
optimum conditions and may have start-
ed to thaw.
Â
 Â
Purchase frozen food goods last
and transport them in an insulated box.
Â
 Â
As soon as you arrive home,
place the frozen goods immediately in
the freezer compartment.

 Â
Avoid or reduce variations in
temperature to a minimum.
Â
 Â
Keep to the expiry date shown
Â
on the frozen food package.
Â
 Â
Always follow the instructions
on the packaging on how to preserve
the frozen foods.

 Â
The maximum amount of
fresh food that can be frozen is shown
in kg/24h on the rating plate with the
technical specifi cations.

Avoid placing food that has
to be frozen in contact with food
that has already been frozen so that
the latter does not under go a rise in
temperature.

Fill the ice container three
quarters full with water; place it on the

Some delicate food stuffs like meat,
fi sh, and lightly frozen groceries can
be placed in a special box, in which the
temperature is kept constant at 0° C.

Defrosting

The fridge-freezer defrosts au-
tomatically and therefore there is no
need for anything to be done to it. Never
re-freeze partially thawed food and con-
sume it within 24 hours.
