Guidelines for frying temperatures
The ideal frying temperature is between 140 and 180 °C.If this temperature
is exceeded the quality of the oil deteriorates. If the temperature is too low,
the pores on the outside of the food do not close and the food absorbes
too much fat.

The shorter cooking times apply to smaller portions and thawed foods whe-
re the oil has reached its preset temperature.
Frozen food needs a longer cooking period.
Safety shut-off switch
The safety shut-off switch is activated when
-
the heating coil is turned upwards.
-
there is no or not sufficient fat in the container
-
the fat exceeds a temperature of 230 °C
Heating coil turned upwards
If the heating coil is turned upwards the heating system is cut off and the
heating control light goes out. When the heating coil is repositioned, the
heating system comes on again.
No or not sufficient fat in the container
The heating system is cut off. It comes on again only when sufficient oil is
filled into container.
Safety temperature limiter
When oil temperature exceeds 230 °C, the safety temperature limiter inter-
rupts the heating process.
Possible causes: not sufficient amount of oil in container. Add more fat.
The safety temperature switch can be repositioned manually after oil has
cooled off after about 5 minutes. The red switch is located underneath the
case (beneath the built-in working surface).
Should this interruption repeat itself:Discontinue use! Appliance must be re-
paired by authorized service personnel!
If the safety temperature switch interrupts the heating process frequently,
the thermostat might be faulty. The appliance must be checked by authori-
zed service personnel.
Cleaning and maintenance
Stainless steel surfaces
Before cleaning the surface with a liquid detergent the fat must have cooled
off!
When cleaning, make sure that no water gets into the container even when
the oil is cold.
Clean stainless steel surfaces with detergents designed for stainless steel
materials.
Lid
Remove glass lid, clean with a damp cloth and a little dishwashing liquid.
Rinse with water and dry.
Container
When cleaning the frying container either melt the oil or let it cool off, as it
should have a temperature of about 10 °C above its melting point.
Caution! The fat might still be hot. Danger of scalding
1. Remove
oil
from the container
completely
:
–
Take out frying basket
–
Fold up the heating coil
–
Take out container and pour out the oil.
2. Remove
stubborn stains
.
3. Clean container with water and dishwashing liquid and rinse thoroughly
with water.
4. Clean container with stainless steel detergents that are commercially
available! Do not use scouring brush or steel wool. Rinse well and dry.
Frying basket
Rinse
the basket regularly
with water and clean with a little dishwas-
hing liquid.
Never use a harsh scrubbing detergent (frying basket is tin-
coated).Do not clean with a steel brush or steel wool.
Rinse thoroughly
with water
after using detergents and dry the basket.
Heating coil
Do not damage the
thermostat sensor when cleaning the heating coils!.
1. Fillthe emptied
frying basket with water , and
add
fat solvent and
bring
to boil
briefly. Pour out water.
2. For stubborn stains apply fat solvent directly onto the coils and scrub care-
fully with a soft brush.
3. Fill fryer with water and rinse thoroughly.
4. Wipe fryer with a damp cloth and dry it.
We recommend the fat solvent to be a soap sud-based detergent. Please
follow the manufacturer’s instructions!
