KVAL 990-HB Operation / Service Manual
Emergency Shutdown and Recovery
There are emergency shutdown (E-Stop) switch located at key points
around the machine.
The E-Stop switches are to be used when the machine is out of control
or is about to damage personnel or equipment.
When an E-Stop switch is activated, power to the machine is killed.
The machine responds, in the same way, if you press the STOP button
on the operator's station.
To Resume Normal Operation after an E-Stop
If an E-Stop is activated, use the following procedure to recover, after the cause of the emergency
stop is resolved:
1.
De-activate the E-Stop switch by pulling it out.
2.
Push the
START MACHINE
button on the operator's station.
Safety Hooks
Each Six-Shooter head is equipped with a red safety hook. These hooks
are designed to catch and restrain the Six-Shooter heads in the event
that the air supply is shut off while the Six-Shooters are at rest, prevent-
ing the router cylinders below from being damaged.
However, each of these three hooks must be removed from their Six-
Shooter positions and hung in the designated storage spot before
beginning machine operation; failure to do so will result in the Six-
Shooters becoming “stuck” as they move into position, causing delay
and potentially damaging the 990-HB.
During normal operation, remove each of the three red safety hooks
from the Six-Shooter heads and place in the hanging storage spot above
the in-feed end of the 990-HB.
