Unpacking and checking your Kymera

Allen Keys

Most parts on the Kymera are secured with Allen keys and bolts.  The Kymera uses bolts which are
best removed with a combina=on of imperial and metric allen keys.  It is worthwhile having a set of
both on hand to allow =ghtening of loose bolts or removal of jet pump components to remove
debris or replace parts.

We recommend ball-socket T-bar Allen keys, especially for the imperial set.  You’ll need an ¼” long
handle allen key (T-bar is best) to remove and/or replace jet pump assembly components.

If you’ve used your board in salt water, before you remove any bolts you should ensure that you
thoroughly wash AND SOAK your board in fresh water – even run it in a fresh water lake or river
if you have the chance.  Otherwise the salt inside the connectors may lock them in place,
preven=ng removal and even damaging the board.

This is especially important for the ¼”

bolts securing the jet pump assembly to the hull.

Roof rack

We like Rhino Racks, but what roof rack you choose (if you would rather not carry your Kymera
inside your car) is up to you.

Check out the op=ons available to you at your local roof rack dealer.

If you intend to carry two Kymeras on the roof of your car, we recommend 1.8m wide roof rack
bars, but you need a minimum width of 1.3m to allow the rear of the boards to sit flat on the
crossbar side by side.
We’ve tried kayak cradles and J-bars, but in the end we found that the easiest way to transport
Kymeras is flat on the roof bars.

Lockable roof rack Te down straps

We love KanuLocks!  A pair of orange 3.3m long straps are plenty to secure a Kymera safely onto a
roof rack.  They won’t stop a determined thief, but they’ll stop opportunists, giving you peace of
mind.

You can find them on eBay.

SeaSucker roof rack

If you have a car which does not take normal roof racks (got a Lambo?) you may wish to consider a
product like the SeaSucker roof rack

Find them here:

hFp://www.seasucker.com.au/heavy-duty-roof-racks/

GoPro handlebar mount

You just have to take some video of your fun on your Kymera to share with friends and family ... and
us!

You can find them on eBay.

Sunglasses retainers

We love Cablz retainers

They’re fully adjustable and have a stainless steel cord, so they keep

your sunglasses on really well.

You can find them on eBay.
