• Only technically skilled persons, who have read
and understood the operating/safety instructions
should operate the gas tool.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operat
-
ing the gas tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control.
• Store idle gas tools, fuel cells, chargers and bat
-
teries out of the reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the gas tool, accessories
or these instructions to operate them. Gas nailers
are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Do not store the gas tool in temperatures above
49°C(120°F). High temperature may result in
explosion or fire and the release of flammable
gas. When not in use, keep the gas tool from high
temperature sources or direct sun light.
• Do not expose the gas tool to rain or wet condi
-
tions. Water entering the gas tool will increase the
risk of electric shock and/or tool breakdown.
• Always assume that the gas tool contains fasten
-
ers. Careless handling of the gas tool can result in
unexpected firing of fasteners and personal injury.
• Do not point the gas tool towards yourself or any
-
one nearby whether it contains fasteners or not.
Unexpected actuation will discharge the fastener
causing an injury.
• Do not force the gas tool. Use the correct gas tool
for your application as it
will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not actuate the gas tool unless it is placed
firmly against the workpiece. If the gas tool is not
in contact with the workpiece, the fastener may be
deflected away from your target.
• Do not drive the gas tool over materials that is
too hard or too soft. Hard material can ricochet
fastener and hurt people, soft material may be
penetrated easily and cause the fastener to fly
freely.
• Do not drive fasteners into other fasteners.
• Use extra caution when driving fasteners into ex
-
isting walls or other blind areas to prevent contact
with hidden objects or persons on other side (e.g.,
wires, pipes, electrical cables.)
• After driving a fastener, the gas tool may spring
back (“recoil”) causing it to move away from the
work surface. To reduce risk of injury always man
-
age recoil by:
· always maintaining control of tool and be ready
to counteract normal or sudden movements
such as recoil.
· allowing recoil to move tool away from work
surface.
· not resisting recoil so that the gas tool will be
forced back into the work surface.
· keeping face and body parts away from tool.
• When working close to an edge of a workpiece
or at steep angles use care to minimize chipping,
splitting, splintering, or free flight or ricochet of
fasteners, which may cause injury.
• Do not use this gas tool for fastening electrical
cables. It is not designed for electric cable instal
-
lation and may damage the insulation of electric
cables thereby causing electric shock or fire
hazards. Furthermore the gas tool is not insulated
from coming into contact with electric power.
• Do not use the gas tool to perform other jobs than
the designated function. Especially do not use it as
a hammer. Impact on the gas tool will increase the
risk of cracked tool body and accidental discharge
of fastener.
• Do not use the gas tool if safety warning label(s)
are missing or damaged.
• Do not remove, tamper with, or otherwise cause
tool operating controls to become inoperable. Do
not operate tool if any portion of the tool operating
controls is inoperable, disconnected, altered, or
not working properly.
• Disconnect battery and fuel cell from the gas tool
before making any adjustments, changing acces
-
sories or storing the gas tool. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of activating the
gas tool accidentally.
• The gas tool should not be modified unless
authorized in the manual or approved in writing by
Kyocera Unimerco Fastening. Fail to comply can
lead to dangerous situations or injurys.
• Keep hands and body away from fastener
discharge area of the gas tool.
• Do not operate the gas tool with batteries other
than the specifically designated battery packs
delievered with this gas tool.
• Use only fasteners designated in the techni
-
cal specifications delievered together with this
manual.
•
Be careful when handling fasteners, they may
have sharp edges and sharp points.
