5-1.11.1 Terminal Health Test
When activated, the STE performs secure and non-secure self-tests. If a crypto card is inserted, at the
initiation of terminal self-test, both the secure and non-secure self-tests will be performed. If the card is
not inserted, only the non-secure self-tests will be performed. If an error occurs during the self-test, the
following display will be presented (
). Record the error code(s) and call the STE Service

5-1.11.2 Front Panel Test
The front panel test consists of display and keyboard tests. The front panel display test is performed first.
It involves scrolling of all displayable characters and lighting each of the LEDs. The test will run until it
completes its cycle. At the “Press Any Key” (
) prompt, pressing any key will cause its name
to appear in the display. This verifies each function or DIAL PAD key.
