If the one of the Endnodes wants to leave the call, the user simply hangs up his STE terminal. At the
other Endnode and the Bridgenode, the CONFERENCE notification on the second line (
turns off and the two are now back on a normal point to point call.
On the other hand, if the Bridgenode user wants to end one of the calls and regain point-to-point
connection with the other Endnode, he can simply press the appropriate call appearance key (
CALL
)
associated with that call. However, at times the Bridgenode cannot fall back to a normal point-to-point
call with the remaining Endnode. This is apparent when that Endnode is stuck in the conference state
where the CONFERENCE notification fails to turn off. In such cases, the STEs are forced to disconnect
and redial.

ISDN - Managing Multiple Calls
If your STE is connected to an ISDN service, it will normally have at least two lines available but more
may be available. The STE provides the capability to manage multiple calls on the ISDN lines.
7-3.9.1 ISDN - Place Additional Calls with a Call In-Progress
While handling a “call in-progress”, you can place another call by placing the call in-progress on hold.
The sample menu (
) shows the in-progress call on line 1.

To place your second call:
1. Place the present call on hold by pressing HOLD. The CALL1 indicator will start flashing (on 0.2
seconds, off 0.8 seconds). Detailed descriptions of Call Hold are available in Paragraphs

on hold.

2. After your first call is placed on hold, place your second call by pressing the next available
CALL
button, in this case
CALL2
