Table 8-6. S-Register Summary
Register Description
S22
a. S22 is bit mapped to store the options listed below:

b. The default value for S22 is 112.
c. If an attempt is made to set bits 0, 1, 2, 3, or 7 (reserved bits) to 1, send the error result
code to the DTE and leave the register unchanged.
d. If an attempt is made to set bits 6, 5, and 4 to the values 001, 010 or 011 (illegal X
values) send the error result code to the DTE and will leave the register unchanged.
S25
a. S25 holds the length of time (in seconds) the terminal waits after a call has entered the
Synchronous On-line State, to examine the DTR line.
b. The default value for S25 is 5 (5 seconds).
c. S25 has a valid range of 0 to 255. If an attempt is made to set the register to a value
outside this range, send the error result code to the DTE and leave the register
unchanged.
S27
a. S27 holds the preferred secure data rate for on-line data mode. The terminal writes to
S27 to set it to the default value. The valid values and their corresponding data rate are
as follows:
Value Rate
6 2400
7 4800
10
9600

= Factory Default
b. The default value for S27 is 17 (38400 bps) or 27 (115200) depending on the Remote
Control Data Port Rate menu setting.
c. If an attempt is made to set the register to an invalid value, send the error result code to
the DTE and leave the register unchanged.
d. If an attempt is made to set the value to a synchronous only value (56000, 64000,
112000, or 128000) when S28, bit 6 is set to 0 (Asynchronous Mode), send the error
result code to the DTE and leave the register unchanged.
e. If an attempt is made to set the value to 56000, 64000, 112000, or 128000 when S28,
bits 1 and 2 are set to 11 (SCIP signaling), send the error result code to the DTE and
leave the register unchanged.
f. If an attempt is made to set the value to an asynchronous only value (115200) when
S28, bit 6 is set to 1 (synchronous mode), send the error result code to the DTE and
leave the register unchanged.
g. If an attempt is made to set the value to 115200 when the terminal is set for TRI-TAC or
BDI, send the error result code to the DTE and leave the register unchanged.
