5-2. VIEW TPA SETTINGS
Terminal Privileges are made by and can only be changed by the TPA but may be viewed by all users to
determine how their STE is configured. The procedures below allow viewing of the settings.

2. Initial Secure Mode.
The INITIAL SECURE MODE menu (
) determines whether the STE will
automatically initiate a secure call upon completion of dialing. Three modes are available:
•
Traditional: The STE will proceed to a non-secure voice call, unless changed while placing
the call.
•
Auto-Secure: The STE will automatically initiate a secure voice call, unless changed while
placing the call. This is the default setting.
•
Secure-Only: The STE will always initiate a secure voice call and will not allow non-secure
communications.
NOTE
If the INITIAL SECURE MODE is set to “Secure-Only” and the STE is zeroized, it
will not reset to the default mode of “Auto-Secure” but will remain in the “Secure-
Only” mode.
