At completion of dialing, if the connection failed, the NETWORK REJECTED CALL
PLEASE HANG UP menu is displayed.
At completion of dialing, if the connection is successful, the STU-III KEY IN
PROGRESS menu is displayed.

The call is placed as a non-secure call.
If you are operating on ISDN, the “Proceeding To” menu (
) and the subsequent menus are
displayed.
If you are operating in PSTN or TRI-TAC, proceed to

Once the call has been connected, and upon successful negotiation of the call, the STE will perform the
signaling to accomplish the Rekey. The “Going Secure To” menu (
Figure 6-17
) will not be displayed until
the far-end initiates rekey.
