Return your terminal to an idle (clear) display. If there is data present, press
MENU
.
Next, you must take your handset off the hook. If your STE has been both properly connected and
properly configured, you will hear a dial tone in your handset, and your front panel display will look like the
following figure (

Press
NONSEC
is displayed on your STE terminal device, dial any other telephone
(far end) using the STE as a regular telephone.

After the number is dialed,

When the far end (party called) answers the call,

When you have completed your call, hang up the handset. The display will show a disconnect message
for a few seconds and then it will clear.
When all Network Settings and initial test calls have been completed, your Terminal Privilege Authority
(TPA) should:

Establish the TPA Crypto Card (Paragraph
•
Make all Terminal Privileges settings (Paragraph
•
Associate User Crypto Cards with the STE (Paragraph
) so you can use the\ STE for secure
calls.
