3-1.3.1 Alphanumeric
Display
The alphanumeric display
is a 3-row by 32-character LCD display to support terminal and
crypto card configuration, and call management. The third row of the display is used with the four Soft
Keys (blue buttons) located immediately below the display.

Typically, for menu selections:
•
Line 1 contains the Menu Title/Display Name or guidance for operator entries to be made in line 2
•
Line 2 contains submenus of line 1 or space to make operator entries.
•
Line 3 contains the names of the applicable Soft Key used with the display.
The “Soft Keys” are variable function selectors.
The STE provides four types of displays: scrollable, Soft Key selection, acknowledgement, and data
entry.
3-1.3.1.1 Scrollable Displays
When a “scrollable” display (
) is presented, you can scroll through the display names that
appear in line 1 by pressing
SCROLL
(Soft Key #3). You select the desired display by pressing
SELECT
(Soft Key #1). Options or lists associated with the selected display are presented in line 2.
