SELECT
When pressed, selects the option/name displayed in line 1.
SCROLL
When pressed, scrolls to the next option or list.
BACK
When pressed, returns to the next higher display, normally the preceding menu.
3-1.3.1.2 Soft Key Selection Display
In a “Soft Key Selection” display (
), you select an option by pressing the appropriate Soft Key.
The four Soft Keys (blue buttons) located below the alphanumeric display provide interaction with the
STE during programming and operation. Whether you are programming the terminal, crypto cards, or
setting up a call, the functionality of the Soft Keys is constantly updated (as indicated in the bottom line of
the display) to allow rapid access to terminal features.
When directed to press a Soft Key (i.e., Press
SELECT
to confirm), you will be required to press the Soft
Key located immediately below the word SELECT in the third line of the display.

When pressed, traverses down through the Menu Hierarchy (i.e., TERMINAL

SCROLL
When pressed, is used to scroll through the menus at the same level in the Menu
Hierarchy (i.e., NETWORK SETTINGS
→
TERMINAL PRIVILEGES, ASSOCIATIONS,
AND SOFTWARE UPDATE MANAGEMENT
→
TERMINAL AUDIT INFORMATION).
BACK
When pressed, traverses up through the Menu Hierarchy
(i.e., ACTIVE NETWORK PORT
→
. NETWORK SETTINGS)
3-1.3.1.3 Acknowledgement Display
The “acknowledgement” display (
) usually pops up when you must perform a manual action
(e.g., insert user card) or when you must confirm an action (e.g., deleting a key).
Line 1 contains advisory information (e.g., REMOVE TERMINAL/CARD ASSOCIATION). Optionally, Line
2 may contain additional information.
