14.3.2.16 RS-485 SCPC Control Interface
The Modem provides a RS-485 interface for modem control and monitoring. The
Modem Control/Status Port is a bi-directional, asynchronous interface that may be used
to control the Multi-Purpose Modem directly in the MIL-STD-188-165A Single Channel
Per Carrier (SCPC) mode. This interface does not provide the overall control of the IP-
Modem. The Serial Control/Status interface complies with RS-485 and supports a
maximum data rate of 115.2 kbps. The data rate and device address of the Serial
Control/Status Port is settable. The format and protocols of the Serial Control/Status
Port commands and responses are specified in L-3 Communications Linkabit ICD
118949. This interface is located on the rear panel J4 connector.
