frame markers for one full frame, a frame sync signal is passed to ROSE,
and the Data Type and Frame Rate values are displayed in the Status
Window under the Test Flight Recorder menu.
If frame sync is not detected within 10 seconds, a FAULT signal is sent to
the ROSE. This is displayed in RED in the Status Window. Under this
condition, any unsynchronized data continues to be passed through to the
memory, but it is not compressed.
The recorder also enters a FAULT condition within 10 seconds after data
stops being received in the RECORD mode.
If the input data frame rate does not match the strap rate locked by the re-
corder, then the recorder enters a Strap
−
Error Fault condition. This is a
non-latched fault condition and can be induced by changing the data rate,
entering the record mode, and then activating the new simulated data.
This Strap
−
Error Fault condition can be avoided by always beginning
simulated data first prior to entering the record mode.
(c)
Data Retrieval State
When the CICC cable assembly attached to the front panel GSE connec-
tor and a data copy request from the GSE is received, the record mode of
the recorder is disabled. In the retrieval mode, the GSE can request vari-
ous types of data dumps from memory.
(2)
Basic Testing Condition Rules for the FA5000CVDR.
The following rules apply when testing the FA5000CVDR with the ROSE/RI
ROC/7 System:
(a)
After connecting the RI interface cable assembly with FA5001 Adapter
cable and Cross
−
over GSE cable assembly, power up the ROC/7 (cold
boot) and activate the ROSE/RI software before applying power to the
FA5000CVDR.
(b)
Always apply power to the FA5000 Recorder before activating the ROSE
Test Flight Recorder Function.
(c)
After setting Data Type/Rate, wait for approximately 15 seconds until the
status window on the Test Flight Recorder menu indicates the new Data
Type and Frame Rate settings, or click Display Status to force an update,
before proceeding with other functions.
(d)
Always start Simulated Data first by Clicking the Start Data button, before
Starting Recording. This allows the new Data Type/Rate settings to be
properly detected and synchronized by the FA5000.
