Magnets, such as the magnetic mount adapter, can interact with other
magnets or magnetic materials. In addition, compasses, navigation
systems and medical implants (such as pacemakers, defibrillator,
insulin pumps) may be impaired or disabled by magnets. Improper
installation or handling may result in personal injury or even death.
Always be careful when handling magnets. If the magnets snap together
(or lock in place on a metallic object), you may be injured.
Keep the magnetic mount adapter away from all magnetic media (credit
cards, hard drives, hearing aids, speakers, and so forth).
The magnetic foil of the magnetic mount adapter is sensitive to heat
exposure. If the magnetic foil gets too warm, the risk is high that it will
stick to the vehicle paint and this may result in damage to the magnetic
foil and to the vehicle roof paint.
To learn more about the operating temperature of the magnetic mount
adapter, refer to Recovery after shipping and storage on page 40.
Avoid strong and prolonged sunlight.
Remove the magnetic mount adapter temporarily at least once a day to
reduce the risk.
Always remove the magnetic mount adapter overnight.
Mounting the ADFA on a tripod
If the ADFA mounted on the tripod tips over, it may cause personal
injury and/or damage to the ADFA.
Make sure that the tripod is mounted in such a way that it is stable so that
it does not tip over easily.
The mounting should be resistant against external influences (for
example, wind or shocks to the tripod).
When selecting the mounting location, be aware of the additional weight
if the antenna is covered with ice (the weight can double very quickly).
