Flight Simulation
How to Perform a Spin
Open the flight simulation software.
1.
From the Main Menu, click on Free Flight.
2.
From the Free Flight screen, under 1. Current Aircraft, click on Change. Select the Bombardier

Learjet 45 aircraft from the list and click OK. Under 2. Current Location, click on Change. Select a
location from the list of thousands of airports. Click OK. Change the 3. Current Weather to Clear
skies. Do not change the 4. Current Time and Season.
Click Fly Now!

Fly to an altitude of 6000 feet or more.

Pull back the throttle to idle.
6.
Pull back slowly on the yoke until you see that the plane is about to stall.

As you begin to stall, pull back on the stick and turn the rudder pedals to the left or to the right. The

aircraft will begin to spin and fall to the ground.
How to Recover from a Spin
Turn the rudder in the OPPOSITE direction that you turned it to cause the spin.
1.
Push forward on the yoke to bring the plane out of a stall.
2.
As you stop spinning, ease up on the rudder.
3.
Gently pull back on the yoke to resume straight and level flying.
4.
Exit the flight simulator (Flights>Exit). Click on Yes.

Go to the next section in the multimedia presentation.
