Shutting Down By The Building Management System
If configured at your site, the BMS notifies the Access system if there is a loss of main power. Both the hardware and software shut
down occurs in a controlled manner. If the Access system receives a signal from the BMS to shut down the system, the following
occurs:
1. The Access system stops all runs in progress.
2. All labware is archived in their final locations.
3. The Access system enters an idle state.
4. Once the system is idle, Tempo initiates a controlled shutdown:
a. Echo instruments shut down
b. The Tempo controller powers off
5. After the controller powers off, manually turn off the Main Disconnect Switch.

Tempo Automation Control Software User Guide Version 2.0

Shutting Down In An Emergency
To shut down in an emergency:
1. To stop a run immediately in the case of emergency, completely press the red
ESTOP
button. The
ESTOP
button can be
used in an emergency to stop robot motion and activity of all devices immediately, with the exception of the computer. The
position of the robot or the state of the other devices in the system are ignored.
The Access DRS has six
ESTOP
buttons within easy reach regardless of where you are located next to the system.
