5. Simulation mode
This mode is used for doing a preliminary burn simulation if you are not sure that the CD you
have inserted in the DVD-ROM drive can be copied on a CD-R /RW disc. Note that you have
to insert both the master CD-ROM (the CD to be copied) and one or more blank target CD-
R/RW discs into the Dupli 125 to run this test. No data will be written onto the blank target
CD-R/RW discs, however.
If the burn simulation is successful, you can move on to copying your CDs
Do not mix CD-R and CD-RW media in the target drives. If you do so, the
simulation or write will fail. Use either only all CD-R media or all CD-RW
media in the target drives for simulations and duplications. Likewise, do not
mix media that support different maximum write speeds (10x 12x, 16x etc.) in
the target drives.
Doing so will cause the simulation or write to fail. Use CD-R/RW media
supporting the same maximum write speed in all of the target drives.
To run a burn simulation:
1. Make sure you are at the
Copy Start
screen:
2. Push the load/eject button of the DVD-ROM drive. When the tray opens, insert the master
disc and press the load / eject button to close the tray.
3. Press the load /eject buttons on the target CD-RW drives to open their media trays. Insert
the target CD-R/RW media and push the load/eject buttons to close the drive trays.
4. Wait until all of the discs have been initialized (when the drives’ LEDs stop blinking). From
the
Copy Start
screen, press the
No
button once to enter the
Simulation
screen:
5. Press the
Yes
button to confirm that you want to run a simulation. After a few moments,
the following screens will display in rapid succession:
