PANCAKES
AMERICAN PANCAKES
Ingredients: 300g of flour, 50g of sugar, 3 eggs, 40g of butter, 30cl
of milk, 1/2 sachet of baking powder, 1 vanilla pod or 1 sachet of
vanilla sugar, 1 pinch of salt
Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl: the flour, sugar,
vanilla sugar or seeds from the vanilla pod (split in half and scraped
out with a knife), the pinch of salt, and the baking powder.
Melt the butter in a double boiler or using a microwave on low
power. Form a well in the centre of the mixture for adding the eggs,
the melted butter, and half the milk.
Mix well to avoid lumps and gradually add the rest of the milk.
When you have finished mixing you should have a smooth, thick,
pancake batter. Pour a small ladle of batter onto the hot and greased
crepe pan, without spreading it. Turn the pancake over as soon as
you see bubbles forming on the surface.
Your delicious pancakes can be savoured with maple syrup, jam,
or a spread of your choice.
