Sharing files with Wi-Fi Direct
1.
Open
Settings
, in Apps.
2.
Select
Wi-Fi
.
3.
Touch the icon and select
Advanced
.
4.
Choose
Wi-Fi Direct
. Your phone will scan for compatible
devices.
5.
Select the device you want to use from the list.
6.
You can now send files via Wi-Fi Direct.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
1.
Open
Settings
, in Apps.
2.
Select
Wi-Fi
.
3.
Turn it
On
if its off. The phone takes a couple of seconds
to scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
4.
Select your Wi-Fi network
and type in its password, if
needed.
5.
Alternatively, you can also swipe down two fingers from
the top of the screen to open
Quick Settings
.
6.
Touch the
arrow
below the icon.
7.
Select from the available Wi-Fi networks and type in
the password if needed.
Avoid connecting to unfamiliar or unprotected
Wi-Fi networks. Unprotected networks do not
encrypt your data and anyone can read and
steal it.
Don’t forget to check with your service provi-
der if you can use your connection as a mobile
hotspot. Also, have in mind that a PC uses a
lot more data than a mobile phone, and you
risk going through your data plan much qui-
cker than expected. We advise you to use the
mobile hotspot functionality
after
setting up
a limit for cellular data usage. See how in

Internet Sharing
You can use your phone as a portable hotspot and share its
Internet connection with other devices, like a tablet or a
laptop.
1.
Open
Settings
, in Apps.
2.
Select
More
.
3.
Choose
Tethering & portable hotspot
.
4.
Select
Wi-Fi hotspot
.
5.
Turn your hotspot
on
.
6.
To configure, touch
Set up Wi-Fi hotspot
. Here you can
set up its name and the password to access it.
