TROUBLESHOOTING

Here are some common problems that can occur when using the Mini Oven. Please review the
problems, their possible cause and any corrective action that should be taken to ensure successful
cooking.

Problem

Possible cause

Solution

The oven is not working

The oven may not be plugged

in correctly

Check the oven has been plugged

in correctly to the mains

There is smoke coming from the

oven

There may be grease splattering

onto the elements

Wait until the oven has

completely cooled down before

wiping the elements clean

Steam is coming from the oven

When cooking foods with high

water content there may be

some steam visible at the top of

the oven door

Take care when opening the oven

door as there may be a puff of

steam when the door is opened

Food is cooking too slowly or too

quickly, or burning

The oven temperature may be

too low or too high

The wire grill shelf may need

to be adjusted if grilling or

toasting

Adjust oven temperature

Adjust wire grill shelf – lower

the shelf if food is cooking too

quickly and burning or higher the

shelf if food is cooking too slowly

The oven is not cooking evenly

The temperature may be too

high.

The dish may not be placed

centrally in the oven

Check you are using the correct

temperature for the recipe.

Ensure the tray is placed centrally

on the shelf. Be prepared to turn

the tray or dish round during

cooking

There is a smell of burning in the

oven

There may have been crumbs

left on the crumb/drip tray

There may be a build up of

grease in the oven or on the

wire rack

Always empty and clean the

crumb/drip tray after each use

Always wipe down the oven

inside (once it has been allowed

to cool completely) and always

wash the wire rack after each use

t

Before the first use and after every use, clean each of the removable parts thoroughly (such

as grill/roasting pan, wire grill shelf)

t

Periodically check all parts before reassembly.

t

Always use plastic, nylon or silicone spatulas etc. – metal tools will damage non stick coatings.
