OPERATION:
You can sweep both lawns and paved surfaces by adjusting height of brush. To raise brush, loosen adjustment now,
move height adjustment handle forward and retighten adjustment knob. To lower brush, adjustment handle is moved
rearward.
When sweeper seems hard to pull, raise brush to sweep top one inch of grass blades. Pulling sweeper forward rotates
brushes and propels debris into hamper. Ground speed is important for efficient sweeping without throwing debris over
back of hamper. To attain best sweeping results and minimize excess wear to brush, it is recommended to sweep
between 3 and 5 MPH.
Hitch Tubes should be kept as level as possible when attached to pulling unit. Three level adjustments can be achieved
by repositioning formed hitch bracket either on top or bottom of flat hitch brackets.
LUBRICATION:
Remove wheel by removing plastic hubcap and snap ring. Apply a light multipurpose grease to wheel gear and pinion
gear. NOTE: Do not allow grease to enter center of pinion gear. Lubricate at beginning of each season or more often
under extreme conditions.
Remove pinion gear and oil pawl with SAE 20 oil or equivalent. Do not apply grease or heavy oil to pawl. This causes the
pawl to stick and operate erratically. When installing pinion and pawl refer to the following figure for correct positioning.
BRUSH REPLACEMENT:
Place brush strips in slots of brush disc so that the shorter supporting bristles are away from brush sweeping rotation.
Secure at each disc with three holder springs. Feed spring through hole of disc. Place upper point into bristles.
STORAGE:
Clean Hamper to remove clippings and debris. Hamper can be removed for storage; move left hand and right hand clip
hooks rearward and remove hamper rod from notches in hamper support straps. Wipe dirt and grease from chassis.
Repaint scratched areas and coat metal parts with oil to prevent rust. Check sweeper parts for wear and replace parts as
necessary. Store sweeper in a dry area out of direct sunlight.
