FLAPS
The wing flaps are electrically operated and are actuated with the flap
switch on the instrument panel.

SPEED BRAKES
Wing mounted SpeedBrakes™ manufactured by Precise Flight Inc. are
installed to provide expedited descents at low cruise power, enhanced
glide path control, and as an aid to the prevention of engine shock
cooling. The Precise Flight SpeedBrake™ Systems (SBS) has been
tested to V
NE
and landings have been made with full flaps and the SBS
fully deployed.
The SpeedBrakes™ consist of wing mounted electric brake cartridges
with a central controller mounted on the right side fuselage wall. The
brakes are controlled by a push button switch labeled “SPEED
BRAKES” on the left side of the instrument panel.
WARNING
THE SPEEDBRAKE™ SHOULD NOT BE USED
IN THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS:
• Forced landing after Engine Failure
• Spins
• Ditching
• Disabled Elevator systems
• Electrical Failure
• Icing
LANDING GEAR
The main landing gear is constructed of gun drilled tubular steel. The
nose gear is a conventional air/oil oleo strut with internal viscous
shimmy dampening.
WARNING
The nosewheel shimmy dampener must be
checked on a regular basis. This can be
accomplished by holding the nose wheel off the
ground and measuring the rotational resistance of
the assembly. Air/oil struts should have from 20-
