INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1) Place the filters in the unit. (Some units come with the filters installed, others have a bag with the
filters in them.) The white sediment and carbon filter should be put in the vertical 10” housing. The
membrane should be placed in the horizontal housing with the Orings inserted first.
2) Locate cold water line under the sink.
3) Assemble saddle valve on cold water line. Turn the pipe clamp adjustment plate to fit the contour of
the pipe. Tighten the bolt so the saddle valve is attached firmly to the pipe.
4) Drain saddle. Clamp drain saddle securely, approximately 6 inches above Ptrap. Drill a hole through
one wall of pipe at opening of saddle valve.
5) Faucet hole in sink. The faucet must be positioned with aesthetics, function and convenience in mind.
Ample flat area is required for the faucet base, so the base nut can be tightened. Conditions may be
present that would eliminate the need to drill a hole.
A. A hole previously drilled, covered by a chrome hole cover. Remove the cover and install faucet.
B. A spray hose that is either not functioning or not desired. Remove the spray hose and plug the outlet
under the main faucet. Install faucet.
Sink drilling. The sink drilling process requires a certain amount of caution and forethought. Porcelain
enameled sinks can be chipped if care is not exercised. Here are two suggested methods.
I. Drill carefully using a high speed drill and a 7/16” carbide tip drill bit.
II. Using a carbide grinding wheel, grind away the porcelain where the 7/16” is to be drilled. Drill a 7/16”
hole through the metal.
CAUTION:
Do not allow metal shavings to remain on the porcelain surface of the sink for any length of
time. The metal chips will stain the sink and are hard to remove.
6) Faucet installation. Remove parts from faucet package. Place chrome plate, then large rubber washer
on faucet stem. Slide stem through hole in sink. Place large washer, lock washer and nut on stem an
tighten securely.
7) Attach product line to faucet. Place brass nut over tubing. Place plastic ferrule on tube. Insert plastic
tube support. Secure nut to base of faucet, making sure tube does not slide out.
8) An air gap is provided for in the base of the faucet. Do
NOT
connect the system drain line to the
dishwasher drain or near the garbage disposal. Backpressure from these units may cause the air gap
to overflow.
Attach black drain line to the 3/16” hose barb on faucet.
Connect the black drain tubing which is shipped loose in the box, to the ¼” hose barb on the faucet by
firmly pressing over the barb. Allow the tubing to relax, then press firmly again to insure proper
seating. Attach other end of drain tubing to the drain saddle.
9) Attach supply line to saddle valve using #7.
10) Screw ball valve onto tank and attach tubing.
11) Turn supply saddle valve closed tightly to pierce pipe. Open slowly to make sure fittings are secure.
Open valve completely and check for leaks.
NOTICE:
Your new equipment is shipped with food quality preservatives. These should be flushed before
use. Do not drink the first tank of water. Although it will not hurt you, it will taste bitter. Your new unit takes
several hours to reach its maximum pressure. The unit should be checked periodically for leaks during
this time. After 6 hours of use the tank should be drained completely. To drain the tank simply turn faucet
on and allow to run until water only comes out at a steady drip, or about five minutes. Turn the faucet off
and allow sufficient time for the tank to refill.
