An optional mechanical winch kit is available for raising
the wing to transport position when the hydraulic system
is not working or when the towing vehicle is not equipped
with the proper hydraulic connections.
Installation Instructions
1.
Attach winch with mounting frame (#4) to the center
deck as shown with 5/8"-11 x 2 3/4" GR5 cap screws
(#1), flat washers (#3), and hex flange locknuts (#2).
Tighten nuts to the correct torque.
Operating Instructions
DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Make sure no one is in the area where the deck will be
raised. The cable could come loose or break and drop the
wing suddenly causing serious bodily injury or death.
•
If a cylinder fitting was loosened to mechanically raise the
wing deck up, be sure to also lower the wing deck with the
mechanical winch. Do not use the cylinder to lower the
deck. It will have an excess amount of air and will drop the
1.
Pull cable hook (#5) out past the gearbox.
NOTE:
Tool Box and Mechanical Winch use the
same mount. Therefore, only one can be selected.
IMPORTANT:
If wing driveline profile is bent or
2. Attach cable (#6) to the wing as follows:
•
Method #1:
Route cable (#6) around the gearbox
base (#10) and clip cable hook (#5) back to the
cable.
•
Method #2:
Attach cable hook (#5) to the wing
deck side panel. Make certain the cable is secured
and will not slip or come loose before raising the
deck.
3. Turn mechanical winch handle (#9) to raise deck. If
cylinder rod will not retract while raising the wing up,
loosen hydraulic fitting (#8) to allow intake of air while
raising the wing.
4. Secure wing deck in the raised position with cylinder
transport lock. See
5. Tighten hydraulic fitting (#8) if loosened.
6. Unhook cable hook (#5) from the wing as follows:
If fitting (#8) was not loosened:
a. Unhook hook (#5) from cable (#6) and reel cable
up with winch handle (#9).
b. Connect hydraulic hoses to the tractor.
c. Remove transport lock.
d. Start tractor and lower wing deck with tractor
hydraulic control lever.
If fitting (#8) was loosened and re-tightened:
a. Loosen hydraulic fitting (#8) at the cylinder to
allow intake air to escape while lowering the wing.
b. Remove transport lock.
c. Lower wing with mechanical winch handle (#9).
d. Unhook hook cable (#6) and reel cable up with
winch handle (#9).
e. Tighten hydraulic fitting (#8).
f. Connect hydraulic hoses to the tractor.
g. Purge hydraulic system of air. See
Mechanical Winch
