Drive Sprocket Engagement
Refer to Figure 2-13:
Soil that is very hard or with a lot of unwanted vegetation
may require several passes with the front rollers set at a
very aggressive angle before seeding begins. Disengage
all-seeds lock in/out pin (#1) while making these passes.
Engage all-seeds lock in/out pin when ready to start
seeding seeds. See steps 4 & 5 on this page for detailed
disengage/engage instructions.
1.
Park tractor and seeder on a level surface where the
unit can be safely lowered to ground level.
2.
Shut tractor down properly before dismounting. Refer
to
IMPORTANT:
Never operate grass seedbox with seed rate
adjustment lever set on 0.
The seed cups will be
damaged if they are turning with
seed rate
adjustment lever set on 0

There are five drive sprockets with lock in/out pins:
•
All-seeds sprocket with lock in/out pin (#1).
•
Native seeds sprocket with lock in/out pin (#2)
•
Grass seeds sprocket with lock in/out pin (#3).
•
Grass seeds reduction sprocket lock in/out
pin (#4). Operate on low range set-up only.
•
Small seeds sprocket with lock in/out pin (#5).
Operates on low range set-up.
4.
Disengag
e any of the five drive sprockets by pulling
out on the lock in/out pin and rotating it one-quarter
of a turn in either direction.
5.
Engage
any of the five drive sprockets by rotating the
lock in/out pin until you can feel it pop in. Do not pull
on the pin while rotating it.
NOTE:
The grass seeds standard sprocket (#3) and
reduction sprocket (#4) drive the grass seeds
seedbox. Therefore, only one of the two sprockets
can be chained to the grass seed box. Be sure to
lock in/out the sprocket (#3 or #4) that is chained.
