Low Range Sprocket and Chain Set-up
Figure 4-2
Low Range Set-up
Refer to Figure 4-1:
1.
Loosen 3/8" flange lock nut (#1) and take-up idler
sprocket (#2).
2.
Remove 66 link drive chain (#3) from speed change
sprocket (#5) and drive sprocket (#4).
3.
Loosen 3/8" flange lock nut (#11) and idler
sprocket (#12).
4.
Remove 74 link driven chain (#9) from driven
sprocket (#10) and speed change sprocket (#5).
5.
Remove 5/8" nut (#6), lock washer (#7), and flat
washer (#8).
Refer to Figure 4-2:
6.
Rearrange speed change sprocket (#5) so that the
small 19 tooth sprocket is behind the larger 35 tooth
sprocket as shown.
7.
Secure sprocket with flat washer (#8), lock
washer (#7), and 5/8" - 11 nut (#6). Tighten nut to
correct torque.
8.
Install driven chain (#9) with 66 links.
9.
Adjust drive chain (#9) with idler sprocket (#12).
When adjusted properly, tighten 3/8" lock nut (#11) to
the correct torque.
10. Install drive chain (#3) with 74 links.
11. Adjust drive chain (#3) with idler sprocket (#2).
When adjusted properly, tighten 3/8" lock nut (#1) to
the correct torque.

High Range Sprocket & Chain Set-up
Figure 4-1
Grass Seed High/Low Range Set-up
The grass seedbox can operate using any of the three
drive speeds to accommodate different grass seed sizes
and dispersal rates They are high range, low range, and
low range reduction. Use the seed rate charts beginning
on page 36 to determine which range is correct for your
seed. See steps 1- 2 on page 12 for guard removal and
steps 23-24 on page 13 for guard installation.
High Range Set-up
Refer to Figure 4-2:
1.
Loosen 3/8" flange lock nut (#1) and take-up idler
sprocket (#2).
2.
Remove 74 link drive chain (#3) from speed change
sprocket (#5) and drive sprocket (#4).
3.
Loosen 3/8" flange lock nut (#11) and idler
sprocket (#12).
4.
Remove 66 link driven chain (#9) from driven
sprocket (#10) and speed change sprocket (#5).
5.
Remove 5/8" nut (#6), lock washer (#7), and flat
washer (#8).
Refer to Figure 4-1:
6.
Rearrange speed change sprocket (#5) so that the
large 35 tooth sprocket is behind the smaller 19 tooth
sprocket as shown.
7.
Secure sprocket with flat washer (#8), lock
washer (#7), and 5/8" - 11 nut (#6). Tighten nut to
correct torque.
8.
Install driven chain (#9) with 74 links.
9.
Adjust drive chain (#9) with idler sprocket (#12).
When adjusted properly, tighten 3/8" lock nut (#11) to
the correct torque.
10. Install drive chain (#3) with 66 links.
11. Adjust drive chain (#3) with idler sprocket (#2).
When adjusted properly, tighten 3/8" lock nut (#1) to
the correct torque.
