Section 2: Tractor Hook-up & Unhook
Driveline Maximum Allowable Length
Refer to Figure 2-1:
The driveline maximum allowable length must, when fully
extended, have a minimum overlap of profile tubes by not
less than 1/2 the free length with both inner and outer
profile tubes being of equal length.
1. remove the inner profile from the outer profile.
2. Apply multi-purpose grease to the inside of the outer
profile.
3. Reassemble the two driveline profiles together with
just 1/2 overlapping of the profiles as shown. Once
assembled, measure and record maximum allowable
length here. ________
Driveline Installation
Refer to Figure 2-2 on page 16:
1. Park tractor on a level surface. Slowly engage tractor
3-point lift lever to raise Snow Blower until gearbox
input shaft is in line and level with the tractor power
take-off shaft.
2. Place gear selector in park, set park brake, shut
tractor off, and remove switch key.
3. Support Snow Blower at this height with support
jacks or blocks to keep unit from drifting down.
4. Unscrew knob (#7) from bell (#6).
5. Turn bell (#6) counterclockwise and remove it from its
mount (#8).
6. If included, remove shaft protector (#5) from the
gearbox input shaft.
7.
Remove driveline bolts (#3) at the splined end of the
shear bolt clutch.
8. Slide shear bolt yoke end of driveline (#2) onto the
gearbox input shaft until holes in yoke align with
groove on the input shaft.
9. Insert, from opposite sides, driveline bolts (#3) and
secure with hex locknuts (#4). Tighten locknuts to the
correct torque.
10. Push/pull on shear bolt yoke end of driveline (#2) to
ensure it is securely fastened to the gearbox input
shaft.
11. Align slots in bell (#6) with bolts in bell mount (#8)
and push bell onto the bolts.
12. Turn bell (#6) clockwise until slots come against
bolts (#8).
13. Secure bell (#6) with knob (#7). Hand tighten knob.
IMPORTANT:
An additional driveline may be
required if implement is attached to more than one
tractor or if a Quick Hitch is used.
