Do not reach past rubber skirting inside feed chute. If
needed, use a stick or branch to lightly push on product
beyond the rubber skirting. Reaching beyond rubber
skirting can result in serious injury or death.
•
Do not use implement as a man lift or work platform. It is
not properly designed or guarded for this use.
•
Keep work area clear of debris to help prevent accidental
•
Do not operate Wood Chipper parked sideways on sloping
ground. Tractor and chipper can flip over.
•
Do not operate a broken or bent driveline. Such a driveline
will break apart while rotating at high speeds and can cause
serious injury or death. Always remove the implement from
use until the damaged driveline can be repaired or replaced.
•
Some tractors are equipped with two power take-off speeds.
Be certain your tractor’s power take-off shaft is set-up to
operate at 540 rpm. Do not exceed 540 rpm power take-off
speed or equipment breakage may result.
•
Keep yourself and others clear of the feed chute hinged
area while rotating the feed chute down. Body parts can be

gear should be worn when working around the Wood Chipper.

Wear face and eye protection such as a full face shield to
protect against flying debris ejecting out the feed chute.
•
Wear a hard hat for protecting the head.
•
Wear hearing protection such as earmuffs or earplugs.

Wear leather gloves to protect against blisters, cuts, and

Refer to Figure 2-1:
1. If the tractor’s slow moving vehicle sign is not visible
to operators in approaching vehicles from the back,
then relocate the sign from the tractor to mounting
bracket (#1) on the implement. If needed, a sign can
be purchased from your nearest Land Pride dealer.

2. When raising Wood Chipper to transport, be sure
that the driveline does not contact tractor, Quick
Hitch, or chipper.
3. Reduce tractor ground speed when turning and leave
enough clearance so that the chipper does not
contact obstacles such as buildings, trees, or fences.
4. Select a safe ground travel speed when transporting
from one area to another. When traveling on
roadways, transport in such a way that faster moving
vehicles may pass you safely.
5. Shift tractor to a lower gear when traveling over rough
or hilly terrain.
