Completing Performance Testing
NOTE
Make sure all accessories are off (lights, etc.) before you
turn the key switch to the “OFF” position.
1.
Set the direction lever to “NEUTRAL”.
2. Tilt the mast forward, lower the forks to the ground.
3. Turn the key switch to the “OFF” position, remove
key.
IMPORTANT
Before you leave the forklift make sure that:
• The parked forklift will not cause an obstruction
or safety hazard and is clear of fire
exits/equipment.
• The forklift is not left unattended on an incline.
• If the forklift is inoperative and you must leave it
parked on an incline, securely block the wheels
and remove the key.
Daily Inspection
NOTE
Daily inspection is an OSHA requirement. Report any
defect immediately to your supervisor.
The daily inspection includes:
• Visual inspection of the entire forklift for any defect.
• Visual check for any engine oil or hydraulic fluid
leaks.
• Radiator overflow level check.
• Check that all controls and gauges work properly.
A complete Daily Checklist is included on page 1-8 of this
maintenance manual as well as in Appendix A of the
Bendi B40i4 Operator's
Manual F-581.
Some specific guidelines follow in the next several pages
to aid in the daily inspection of your
forklift.
Fuel System Check
WARNING
Check the fuel system for leaks and the general condition
of parts. When fuel is added to the forklift, follow the
procedure for filling the LPG tank as described in the
Bendi B40i4 Operator's Manual (F-581-R_).
Power Steering Check
1.
Sit in the driver’s seat and start the engine.
• All fuels are very flammable and can burn or
cause an explosion.
•
DO NOT
use an open flame to check the fuel
level or to check for leaks in the fuel system.
• If a leak in the fuel system is detected,
extreme care must be used during the repair.
• DO NOT operate the lift forklift until all leaks
are repaired.
