Loop Protection
Configuration
Loop Protection is used to detect the presence of traffic. When the switch receives a packet’s looping detection
frame MAC address that is the same as its own from a port, Loop Protection occurs. The port will be locked
when it receives the looping Protection frames. To resume the locked port, determine the looping path, remove
the looping path, select the locked port, and click “Resume” to turn the locked port on.
Web Interface
To configure Loop Protection parameters in the web UI:
1.
Click Port Management, Loop Protection and Configuration.
2.
Evoke to select enable or disable the port loop Protection.
3.
Click the Apply button to save the settings.
4.
To cancel the settings, click the Reset button to revert to previously saved values.

Parameter descriptions

Global Configuration
Enable Loop Protection
: Controls whether loop protections is enabled (as a whole).
Transmission Time
: The interval between each loop protection PDU sent on each port. Valid values are 1 - 10
seconds. The default is 5 seconds.
Shutdown Time
: The period (in seconds) for which a port will be kept disabled in the event of a loop is detected
(and the port action shuts down the port). Valid values are 10 to 604800 seconds (7 days). The default is 100
seconds.
Port Configuration
Port
: The switch port number of the port.
